Brief: Using the components of an existing bike light from pound land, design a completely new product after choosing an appropriate client, this will then be designed and presented on Solidworks. The inner components will need to be measured accurately using calipers as these will all be used within the product. The shell of the product must be made from plastic where it will be designed around the existing components; the handle bar mount, battery holder, switch and LED unit.
The bike light will be designed for Deliveroo delivery couriers, this is because their great contrasting colours can be incorporated within the product. These colours also create a very welcoming and comforting feeling which would be great to express within the product. There is currently no product on the market where a courier company gives their workers a branded bike light to use, as they are normally forced to supply their own.
These were the components that the main body would need to cover. The lens and clip could be changed if needed.
These were the initial ideas developed into the final product, two foam models were created to represent the size of the product as well as representing the features.
